Where My Roots Begins
Like ivy, we grow stronger through connection.
Rooted in empathy, growing toward light.
Wholeness unfolds when the heart feels seen.
My journey is a symphony of four cultures, each adding its own rhythm and tone to who I am today.
I started with a degree in Japanese Studies in China and a Master’s in TESOL from the University of Liverpool, and later worked as a university lecturer in China, an international exchange officer in Japan, and a Mandarin teacher in both South Africa and the UK.
Living in different parts of the world showed me how beautifully diverse people can be. Each culture taught me something new about empathy, resilience, and the many ways we connect as human beings.
These experiences eventually led me to the University of Nottingham, where I completed my MA in Person-Centred Experiential Counselling and Psychotherapy (PCECP) and became a qualified therapist.
As a highly sensitive person (HSP), I naturally notice the small things, including the tone of a voice, a look in the eyes, or a quiet pause between words.
These sensitivities guide the way I work. I don’t just listen to words; I listen to what’s beneath them.
Whether in English or Mandarin, I aim to create a space where words flow naturally and the heart feels understood.
My path into therapy has been both a continuation and a transformation, a journey of embracing life in all its colours and depth.
